Title: Event Operations Manager

No. of Positions: 2-3 positions available for suitable candidates.

Location: UK based at various Summer festivals, concerts, stadia and events situated regionally and/or nationwide.

Value: Negotiable and dependent on candidate’s application and level of qualifications and events experience.

Duration: 3 year contract for 3-4 months per annum to be renewed in year three for a subsequent 3 year period.

Timeline of contract each year: Seasonal contract from May – August for 2018-2021 with training and job shadowing commencing Summer 2017.

Main purpose of contract: Part of the UK Management Team responsible for the effective and profitable planning, delivery and execution of annual events and venue contracts.

 

KEY TASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Project Management of all major events.
  • Procurement and liaison with all suppliers.
  • Plan and direct all aspects of the organisation’s operational policies, objectives, and initiatives.
  • Responsible for the attainment of short and long term operational goals.
  • Directs the development of the organisation to ensure future growth.
  • Manage Administration.
  • Encourage each group to take responsibility for performance.
  • Foster team building by encouraging individuals to share knowledge.
  • Provide direction and leadership to the management of other personnel.
  • Enhance and or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organisation by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the organisation.
  • Conduct change management initiatives to streamline event operations.
  • Complete costing sheets for all events and manage individual budgets to ensure that a positive outcome is always achieved.
  • Champion ISO.
  • Ensure health and safety is at the forefront and is adhered to at all times.
  • Prepare and contribute to tender bids and quotations as required.
  • Any other reasonable request.
  • Play a significant role in long-term planning, including initiatives geared toward operational excellence.
  • Oversee overall operational management, planning, systems and controls.
  • Supervise and support operational supervisors and operatives on an on-going basis.
  • Manage events and contracts.
  • Drive operational excellence.
  • Introduce new initiatives to encourage continuous improvement.

 

KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Leadership, Strategic Planning, Management.
  • An energetic, forward-thinking individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image.
  • A strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus.
  • A well organised and self-directed individual.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Experience of managing a team of staff with a hands-on approach.
  • Significant exposure to major event management.
  • Budgetary control and commercial awareness.
  • Project Management.
  • Microsoft Office.
  • Full Clean Driving Licence would be an advantage.
  • Professional Indemnity / the capacity to put policy in place would be an advantage.
  • Tax Clearance Certification would be an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of Health and Safety – IOSH or an equivalent qualification would be an advantage.
  • A proven track record contracting within the Events Industry would also be an advantage.
